About Us
Ulsan is home to South Korea’s largest petrochemical industrial complexes and government-controlled ports. In 2019, the city experienced two significant port area incidents—a fire on a car carrier that destroyed 80 vehicles and an explosion on a chemical tanker. In 2021, a young firefighter with less than 18 months of service tragically lost his life while responding to fire at a commercial complex.
Following these tragic events, the Ulsan City Government approved the establishment of a specialized training facility to improve firefighter safety and enhance disaster response capabilities. This facility, designed for live fire and hazardous materials response training, was initiated in 2020 and is set to be completed by March 2025. It is structured into three specialized training blocks:

- Structure Fire Training Facilities
- Block One provides fundamental training facilities, including Compartment Fire Behavior Training (CFBT) and a multi-purpose training tower.

- Industrial Fire Training Facilities
- Block Two focuses on petrochemical training with petroleum tanks and diking, petrochemical plant simulations, and tank lorry scenarios. In this block, trainees will participate in fire suppression and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) control exercises in a simulated industrial environment.

- Driving Practice Zone
- Block Three, currently designated for driving practice, will be converted into a shipboard live fire training facility next year, pending budget approval from both the Ministry of Economy & Finance and the Ulsan City Government.
Our training facility will commence operations in March 2025. We are currently developing approximately 20 programs designed for both professional firefighters and industrial firefighters. Each program is expected to run between 2 to 10 batches annually.
