About Us

Ulsan Fire Headquarters

The fire service in Ulsan began in 1945 with the establishment of a 70-member fire brigade. This vital group evolved into a formal fire department in 1947 and was subsequently elevated to the Ulsan Fire Headquarters in 1997. As of January 2025, we have a total workforce of 1,366 personnel.

The Ulsan Fire Headquarters oversees various administrative functions, including fire prevention, safety inspections, personnel management, and budget allocation. Our core responsibilities are fire suppression, rescue operations, pre-hospital emergency medical services, and hazardous materials response—all essential for protecting Ulsan, home to national industrial complexes and government-controlled ports.

Our organization consists of six fire stations, twenty-five 119 safety centers, six rescue units, one special response team, and one safety experience center. Additionally, we will launch the Special Disasters Training Center in March 2025.
